More about Mrs. Hummel...

I was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and attended Northern Michigan University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Health and an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Science. For eight years, I worked as an x-ray technologist, but over time, I felt a strong calling to make a change. Teaching swim lessons in high school and college had sparked a deep love for working with children, and I realized that education was where I truly belonged.

Motivated by that passion and a sense that God was calling me in a new direction, I returned to school to pursue a Master’s degree in teaching at Carroll University, earning dual licensure in both regular and special education. For the last three years, I’ve been teaching kindergarten at a parochial school—a role I find incredibly rewarding.

Outside of school, my husband and I stay busy with our three year old son and our one year old daughter. We also have the cutest dog, Diffie—named after my favorite ’90s country singer, Joe Diffie. I’m looking forward to an exciting school year and all the learning and growth it will bring!
