MORE ABOUT MRS. ZUPKE...

I have taught mathematics and english language arts in a public middle school setting for several years.  In May of 2025, I felt the Holy Spirit calling me to do more.  When I had to ask a student to erase the word Jesus from their sidewalk chalk art, I knew it was time to explore opportunities as a Catholic school educator.  Props to the Holy Spirit for leading me to St. Gabriel Catholic Parish School!

My path to teaching was a non-traditional one.  I was a Professional Landscape Designer (four years) and Professional Land Surveyor (eight years) with degrees/certifications earned in both.  Everything changed when God blessed me with a beautiful baby in 2008!  I couldn’t bear to leave my beautiful son with someone else, so I became a stay-at-home mom.  It was after my second baby was two years old that I felt my God-given talents calling me back to work.  I began as an early childhood teacher in 2015 and fell in love with teaching! 

I have worked with all age levels (PK-8) as a paraprofessional and long-term substitute at Erin School.  I have been trained in elementary - middle school math/reading assessment and intervention techniques, and one of my career goals is to become a Math Interventionist.

I grew up near Wichita, KS, and moved to Wisconsin as a Junior where I graduated from Arrowhead High School in Hartland, WI.  It was there that I met my husband, Richard.  We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this October and have been blessed with two beautiful children;  Amber (12) and Alex (17).  They both attend(ed) Erin School and Hartford Union High School. 

We are active members of St. Mary of the Hill Parish/Holy Hill where I have taught religious education for eight years as well as being part of the committee that runs the Holy Hill Arts and Crafts fair for over 15 years.  I am also the Director of Referees for Erin Soccer Club.

I am excited to begin a new path in my Career as a Math/ Reading Interventionist and am looking forward to meeting every one of the students and their families at St. Gabriel Catholic Parish School this year!

Favorite Saint  - St. Michael the Archangel

Favorite St. Gabriel Memory  - Following the path the Holy Spirit sent me on to meet Mrs. Lestina and join St. Gabriel's School as an Interventionist Teacher.

Favorite Activity Outside of Work  - Sports, Trivia, hiking, fishing, hunting, and watching Pure Flix on Amazon Prime.

Favorite Children's Book  - Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss. My son (now 17) used to challenge me to read this as fast as I could when he was 3/4 years old.

Favorite Place in Wisconsin  - Kettle Moraine State Forest, Southern Unit - Dousman/Eagle, WI. I worked there in college on the Trail Maintenance Crew (circa 1997) and it is my "happy place". God speaks to me in the silence I experience there through hiking the trails.

Qualities Your Favorite Teacher Possessed - Charismatic, Compassionate, willing to go out of her way to make sure every student knew they were a valuable member of the class.

Name One Thing On Your Bucket List  -

I would LOVE to explore England and Rome for the History of my family and the Catholic Faith!
