Faith & Service

At St. Gabriel Catholic Parish School, Catholic Identity is essential and enduring because of individual and group activities.

Daily Prayer
St. Gabriel School takes time throughout the day to pray. Every morning all classes begin the day with prayer and special intentions. Before lunch, each class prays. At the end of the last class, after the normal business of an academic day, the entire school ends the day in prayer.

Mass At St. Gabriel
Liturgies are an integral part of the St. Gabriel experience. All-school Masses are offered each Wednesday and on Holy Days to celebrate the unity of our Catholic faith. St. Gabriel Parish School children participate in every Mass.

First Holy Communion
The sacrament of First Holy Communion is received by our 2nd Graders every May. Along with this, our older children are offered the sacrament of reconciliation during Advent and Lent.

Retreats and Seminars
Students at St. Gabriel take part in Middle School retreats. The students participate in a Ropes Course, John Bosco Day, spiritual reflection and Catholic social issues.

Community Service
St. Gabriel Parish School service programs help students fulfill the belief of giving to the community. Students are involved with visits to the nursing homes, participating and serving at the food pantry, collecting coats and mittens for the poor, collecting food for the poor, being involved in Tablesetters and Peacemakers programs.

The Middle School students are expected to perform a determined number of service hours each year. Every grade is known for one specific program to support every year. (Condella's Coats For Kids, mitten drive, St. Ben's Food Pantry, Tablesetters, Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas and holiday gifts for the poor and homeless, etc.)
