Week of January 16

Dear Parents,

The first day of school for students at our new facility is January 28th! It’s hard to believe this day has come. Teachers and staff are so excited to see the new building, as I am sure many families are too. On the first day in the new building we will be offering a 30 minute walk through on the morning of January 28th from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m., for any parent who is interested in checking out the new school with their child(ren) on that day. Keep in mind, we will be having our official Open House Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 3rd, but if you can’t wait to see the beautiful new facility, you are invited to look around before school starts on Jan. 28th. If you plan to take the walk through, please park in the current parish parking lot, and since this is the first day for teachers as well, I ask that you only tour the hallways and just “peek” into the classrooms as the teachers will be getting their rooms ready for the students. This will also keep the classroom floors from getting wet and muddy.

The school parking lot will not be ready until spring, therefore parking for school staff and parents will be in the existing parish parking lot. There will be no parking behind the school where the parish garage is located. When dropping off your child at school, please do so at the main school entrance, driving in a counterclockwise direction. This is also where the busses will be dropping off students in the morning and picking them up at the end of the day.

If your child is getting picked up in the car line at the end of the day, please drive to the back of the building, proceeding in a counter clockwise direction. Remember, do not park your car during this pick-up time to walk over and get your child. In an effort to keep the line moving and to maintain safety, teachers will assist students as they get into the cars. When visiting school during the school day, you should park in the existing parish parking lot and enter through the main school entrance.

We contacted Riteway bus company and they said all pick-up and drop-off times will remain the same. With regard to the times of the day, the school schedule will stay the same. Recess will be in the area behind the school in the field - northwest of the garage. (For safety, the driveway leading to the back of the church and school will be blocked off during the school day.)

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and patience as we make this exciting move. These new procedures may change as we work out any glitches in the process. As we settle in and finalize new changes in procedures and policies, I will continue to keep you up to date. These are truly amazing times. Praise God!

Through Christ,

Steve Hamilton
