Grade Specific Catholic Education Curriculum
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has developed Grade Specific Catholic Education Curriculum to identify key religious education concepts for each grade level (1-8). These concepts are articulated in competence-based language. Curriculum guides for parents were developed so schools and parents could identify what we want our students to know and be able to do at the end of each grade based on national state and local standards.
There's No Place Like Home March 11
For over 125 years, our teachers have provided a comprehensive education of the whole child in a nurturing and respectful environment, that fosters an academically strong, faith-based education to their students, resulting in stronger leadership skills, higher self-esteem and a better sense of community and responsibility. Our K4-8th grade teachers are the first in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee to achieve exemplary status for professional staff and staff development. Our dinner auction enables our school to continue to fund programs that make this stellar achievement possible. All funds raised go directly to our school so on behalf of the students, parents and faculty of St Gabriel we THANK YOU for the generous contributions of time, talent and treasure in the past. We look forward to making this evening another successful evening.
Mardi Gras - Kick Off to Lent
As Lent traces the journey of Jesus to the Cross, it’s also a time to reflect on our journey as disciples and to act in solidarity with people of our global church. For 40 days, we are to live more simply, reflect on our faith and support people struggling to free themselves from poverty. Lent is a special time for us to draw closer to God through (The Three Pillars of Lent) Prayer, Fasting & Giving Alms as we prepare to celebrate Easter - the greatest Holy Day of the Church year. You're invited to "The Three Pillars of Lent" Family Night on "Pancake Tuesday", February 28, 2017 from 5:45-7:30 PM. You will enjoy a pancake dinner with all the fixin's, provided by Faith Formation/HSA, fellowship and learn more about "The Three Pillars of Lent - Fasting, Almsgiving & Prayer" through fun crafts and games. We will end our festive evening with prayer as families gather for Eucharistic Adoration in St. Gabriel Church. This is a free event and we only ask you bring a nonperishable meal for the St. Gabriel/St. Boniface Food Pantry. PLEASE RSVP BY FEBRUARY 21, 2017.
